STUDIO POLICY

Lesson Rates

Lessons consist of weekly private sessions of either 45 minutes or 1 hour in length. The lesson rates below are based on regular weekly attendance, and are subject to change.

Lesson Payment

As of Saturday, January 9th, 2010, payment for two lessons is required upfront.  One payment will be credited towards that day’s lesson and then the second will be a deposit for your next lesson to insure I hold your lesson spot.  If you show up at your next scheduled lesson you will then only have to pay for that day's lesson.  If you cancel your lesson without 48 hours notice or without a legitimate excuse, your deposit will be forfeited and at your next scheduled lesson you will have to pay for two lessons again.  Payment by cash, check, or Paypal is accepted.

Cancellation Policy

PLEASE READ: 48 HOUR NOTICE IS REQUIRED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE A LESSON, EXCEPT IN LEGITIMATE EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. (Legitimate emergencies include sudden illness or an urgent family crisis. Avoidable conflicts, other appointments, or failure to plan ahead are not considered emergencies. A record of each student’s cancellations will be kept. If repeated cancellations occur the instructor may ask you to leave the studio.

Please arrive at your lesson on time – if you are late, your lesson will not be extended to make up time. If the instructor must cancel a lesson all effort will be made to make up the lesson at the student’s convenience.

Contact Information

If you are calling to cancel or re-schedule a lesson during normal business hours, please call your instructor directly at 202-841-6869.  If you are calling after hours, please leave a message via voice mail.

Additional Information

Consistency is very important in the study of music.  Regular attendance at your weekly lessons and practice between lessons is crucial to your development as an artist.

A minimum of two weeks notice is required to discontinue lessons.  If less than two weeks notice is given, the student will be charged the tuition fee for two lessons.

Voice students should bring either a 3-ring binder or folder, and a pencil with them to each lesson.  Your instructor will give you music and/or study materials to keep in your binder.  These are your best tools for practice between lessons.

If your teacher decides that you need to purchase books/sheet music/materials, please have the book purchased within two weeks.

Mission Statement

My goal is to provide experienced and healthy vocal training to students of all ages.  I strive to teach students based on their unique individual needs, not upon standards set or predetermined by society.  Each student is unique in the sense that they may have little or no musical training or years of experience and lessons behind them.  I work within all talent levels, and this diversity among students fosters and creates a better working environment for the teacher and student.  I feel my responsibilities are to develop appreciation for all styles of vocal music, to provide musical challenges, and a personalized musical education for my students.
